Duncan Lively
Duncan Lively started his career at an Austin, Texas television station. From there he moved to NBC News where he served a three year stint as resident photojournalist in Moscow during the Cold War. In 1993, sensing that television news had drifted away from public service, he shifted his career to public radio. Since then he has held a variety of production and management positions at several stations including KEDT Corpus Christi (the smallest community-licensed TV/radio station in the country,) KUOP Stockton, Capital Public Radio in Sacramento, and WMFE Orlando. In 2005 he became General Manager at KAZU, Monterey. During his three years of leadership at KAZU, the station experienced double-digit growth in audience and community financial support. From 2008 to 2011, Lively and Wallace achieved similar gains at KVCR Riverside/San Bernardino while helping that organization refocus its on-air and online marketing efforts. Lively is Program Director at KCLU which serves Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties in southern and central California. |
Nick Brunner
@CapRadioNick Nick Brunner grew up in rural Illinois with his sister, parents and a vast amount of corn. His first run-in with radio came when he and other cast members of the yearly musical would perform scenes on 1240-AM, WSDR in Sterling, Illinois. He discovered NPR in college when he was hired to work, part time, on the air at WGLT-FM. Over that five year period Brunner came to appreciate the alternative that NPR and its affiliates provide to a drab and predictable commercial radio landscape. These days Nick is experiencing his first taste of what he considers adulthood. He holds delusions of sophistication that often don't match his modest lifestyle. As a result, he spends time trying to find just the right wine to accompany Tuna Helper . . . a Shiraz works well. |
